The Department of Textile Technology was established in the year 1987 with an intake of 15 for B. Tech. UG cousre. Subsequently, the intake was increased to 30 in 2002. M. Tech in Textile Technology has started from the academic year 2016-17 with an intake of 15. Ph.D. program in Textile Technology is also offered under Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathawada University Nanded. The UG Program of the Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) consecutively three times in the year 2003, 2008 and 2013. The department provides latest and relevant quality education covering various aspects of design, development and manufacturing of fibres, yarns, and fabrics used as dress material to highly specialized industrial applications.

The Department of Textile Technology was established in the year 1987 with an intake of 15 for B. Tech. UG cousre. Subsequently, the intake was increased to 30 in 2002. Ph.D. program in Textile Technology is also offered under Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathawada University Nanded. The UG Program of the Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The department provides latest and relevant quality education covering various aspects of design, development and manufacturing of fibres, yarns, and fabrics used as dress material to highly specialized industrial applications.
Department has seven faculty members out of which six are doctorates (mostly from IITs). This Department has a good academic culture and conducive research environment in the areas like spinning, fibre science, non-woven, weaving, industrial management and economics. The laboratories equipment’s have been procured from the funding of state government and the AICTE funded projects under the category of MODROB and R&D. The infrastructure is sufficient to achieve the academic excellence.
The students of this department are working in most prestigious national and international companies like Reliance, Raymonds, Indorama, Spentex, Century Rayon, Morarjee, Welspun, Garden, Century Enka, KSF, Microsynth fabrics, Filatex, Supreme Non-wovens, Trutzschler, Barmag, Brinton, ATE enterprises, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, IBM etc. Department organizes seminars/conferences for students and faculty; community development programmes for the local unemployed youth and women. Students participate in different co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at the institute, state, national and international level. Texplorer, a national level students’ paper presentation contest is a regular activity of the students of the department. Textile course of this institute has the reputation of hundred percent placements since inception and maintains this tradition also in the period of recession.

The Textile Technology Programme educational objectives (PEOs) are as follows:
