SGGSIE&T Nanded Hosts SANKALP 1.0 – A National Conference on Recent Advances in Chemical Engineering
The Department of Chemical Engineering at SGGSIE&T Nanded successfully organized SANKALP 1.0, a two-day National Conference on April 11-12, 2025. Convened by Dr. P.G. Jadhav and co-convened by Prof. S.B. Dethe, the event saw active participation from 219 students and professionals across 12 institutes. Sponsored by Godavari Drugs Ltd, IIC SGGSIE&T, and Dean R&D, the conference featured paper and poster presentations, an industry-defined problem challenge, project competitions, and a workshop on DWSIM.
The National Conference on Recent Advances in Chemical Engineering, titled SANKALP 1.0, was successfully held on April 11-12, 2025. - Inaugural Ceremony: The conference was inaugurated by Yogesh Dashrathe Sir (President NOVA Polychem Pvt ltd Sambhajinagar), Dr. M B Kokre (Director SGGSIE&T) Mr. Girish Deshpande (H R manager Godavari Drugs Ltd Nanded), Dr. P G Jadhav (Convenor Sankalp 1.0 & Head Deptt of Chem Engg), Dr. S.B. Dethe (Co-Convenor Sankalp 1.0) whose insightful remarks set the tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of innovation in chemical engineering.
- Participation: The conference witnessed an overwhelming participation of 219 candidates from various prestigious institutes across the country. The diverse participation showcased the widespread interest in the field of chemical engineering and the importance of platforms like SANKALP for knowledge dissemination and networking.
- Keynote Lectures: Mr. Yogesh Dashrathe Sir and Mr. Shridhar Sir both delivered keynote lectures that provided in-depth perspectives on the recent trends and challenges in chemical engineering. Their presentations were thought-provoking and sparked meaningful discussions among the attendees.
- Technical Sessions and Competitions: The conference featured a range of technical events, including:
- Paper Presentation: Students and professionals presented their research papers, exploring cutting-edge innovations in the field. The total participants for paper presentation received of 110 (57 Papers)
- Poster Presentation: A dedicated session for poster presentations allowed participants to share visual representations of their work with a broader audience. The poster presentation participation was 42 students with 29 total posters.
- Industry-Defined Problem: In this session, real-world challenges presented by the industry were addressed, providing an opportunity for participants to propose practical solutions. Total 11 groups from various institutes participated in this event.
- Project Competition: Teams presented their engineering projects, demonstrating their problem-solving abilities and creativity in tackling contemporary challenges in chemical engineering. Total 13 groups of projects from different institutes presented their work in this competition.
- Workshop on DWSIM: A specialized workshop on DWSIM, a process simulation software, was conducted, enabling participants to enhance their technical skills in chemical process modeling and simulation. In this event 64 students from various institutes have been participated.
Keynote addresses by industry leaders like Mr. Yogesh Dashrathe and Mr. Shridhar added valuable insights. The event concluded with a valedictory session appreciating the vibrant exchange of ideas and innovations in chemical engineering.
