Institute team is winner of SIH2022 Hardware Edition competition!

In recently conducted #smartindiahackathon2022 finale our team 'NavNirmal' is declared as joint winner of #sih2022 Hardware Edition! The SGGSIET team was competing in the #SIH2022finale held at REVA University, Bengaluru. The coveted prize of Rs. 1 lakh was shared with another team from Gujarat.

The team comprised all final year students: 4 from Mechanical Engineering and 2 from Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The team was lead by Ishwar Gade (Mech), and the other team members were Snehdeep Alane (Mech), Hanmant Konale (Mech), Suyog Moon (Mech), Nipun Dhandage (ETC), and Pragati Darekar (ETC). It was mentored by Prof. (Dr.) Suhas Gajre, Dean (Procurement and Incubation) and Professor of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The team is also part of the RNXG (Robotics for Next Generation) group of students working towards different solutions involving robots.

The students worked on the problem ID TK1047 given by Govt. of Rajasthan which required them to give a solution to build robots for all kinds of dedicated tasks such as cleaning shoes, planting crops, cleaning windows, etc. Our students were trying to propose a solution for cleaning windows.

Conceptualized by MoE's Innovation Cell and AICTE, SIH 2022 final is a non-stop event which was held for 5 days: Aug 25-29, 2022. Apart from technical extravaganza - which includes mentorship by expert committee - there were many attractions like cultural programmes, expert lectures, interaction with Hon. Shri. Narendra Modi, PM of India, etc.

Hon. Director Prof. (Dr.) Yashwant Joshi, Heads of the departments, Deans, faculty, staff and students congratulated the team and wished them all the best for their future
