Grievance Redressal mechanism for Faculty, staff and students
Grievance Redressal Mechanism:
The grievance redressal mechanism is fundamental and essential in every well-functioning Institute. This mechanism allows its stakeholders to air a grievance rather than keep it bottled up. Protection of human rights is necessary for the overall development of an individual's personality. The Grievance Redressal Cell is already working in SGGSIE&T since the inception of the Institute. According to Guidelines of Government/AICTE, a Grievance cum Internal Complain Committee (GICC) is constituted in the Institute. The GICC is intended to find solutions for problems like Sexual harassment – any physical or mental harassment, Complaints regarding classroom teaching – Classroom management, completion of syllabus, teaching-learning methods, etc., when they arise. The GICC convenes meetings periodically and whenever there is an urgent issue to address and redress the grievance. The function of the cell is to investigate the complaints lodged by any student at Institute and judge its merit. The Grievance Cell is also empowered to investigate matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the Head of the Department in person or consult with the officer-in-charge Students' Grievance Cell. If the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box, placed at various places in the entire campus. Grievances can be sent through e-mail to the member/officer in charge of the Students' Grievance Cell or through the Grievance portal of the Institute. Institute's grievance redressal committee takes care of incidences of ragging and unlawful activities. The following committee is constituted for the effective functioning of the Institute:
